Learning Management System (LMS)

Microassist’s Training Division offers leading-edge instructional design products to the State of Texas. With the surge in state agency online training, Microassist facilitated this demand with a low-cost, high-value LMS service. Using open-source technology with no per-user or per-CPU fees, Microassist provides an infrastructure capable of training thousands of students simultaneously and offers a wide array of LMS and web-based training solutions. By using well-supported and Section 508-compliant solutions, Microassist can offer our customers robust systems with:

  • No Hidden Costs – No fees on a per-user/PC/course basis;
  • Project Pricing – Cost is based on the customer’s individual LMS configuration, instructional design and service needs.
  • Hosting Option – Options for dedicated and shared services are available.
  • Easy Transition – Our customers own the work product. Our services focus on assisting in instructional design, site configuration, custom coding and hosting. Customers may transition the work product in total in-house or to another facility in accordance with the hosting agreement.

Application Hosting (Shared or Dedicated)

Since 1996, Microassist’s Technical Services Division has offered shared managed hosting options to our state and private sector clients. Services include custom application hosting, content management, website hosting, LMS hosting, CMS hosting, tier 1 and tier 2 application support, website monitoring, Domain Name Service (DNS), and eCommerce integration. Server technology options include Windows-based and Linux-based solutions with either open-source, proprietary, or custom software packages.
Microassist offers both dedicated and cloud-based hosting options for agencies having unique requirements. The dedicated model provides for application isolation, FIPS encryption, and dedicated traffic monitoring.

Web Content Management Systems (CMS)

Microassist helps its customers achieve a high level of program success with the necessary content management applications that best meet their needs. In this, Microassist provides content and data assessments, transfers, development and deployment, content management solutions, project management, statistics tracking and technical writing services.

Content management systems keep track of every piece of content on your website, much like the way your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or other website assets.

As part of its CMS services, Microassist offers Content Assist should the agency prefer to delegate the data entry task. This can include making documents, presentations and other electronic media Section 508 and TAC 206/213 accessible.

Web Training, Maintenance, and Support

All package levels include a course on content management and reporting. Additional custom training options are available.

The customer and Microassist will agree on a long-term maintenance plan. In general, Microassist will retain responsibilities for server and database maintenance including the application of service packs, database optimizations and backups. The customer generally retains authority over content. Support is generally bundled into service class.

In addition to its standard courses, Microassist offers a wide array of web technology courses including accessibility, Agile, Service Oriented Architecture, Java, JavaScript, HTML/XHTML, ITIL, SQL Server and other web-based technology courses. Microassist also provides a wide array of security courses oriented toward securing website infrastructures.

Business Analysis Services

Microassist provides consulting, training, analysis and project management for in-demand business analysis platforms including, but not limited to, FME (Feature Manipulated Engine) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems).

Turnkey Solutions

Microassist offers fixed price turnkey solutions covering CMS Website Development, Moodle and other LMS Development, Shopping Cart Module, and other Custom Web Development based on DIR Customer specific requirements.

Accessibility

Microassist’s staff members, which include analysts, developers, technical writers, instructional designers project managers, and quality assurance personnel, are fully versed in accessibility guidelines as they relate to their work. Microassist offers a suite of accessibility services ranging from accessibility training to product evaluations and analysis to product development consulting and remediation.

Warranty Information

The following warranty is provided for Microassist’s Web Development and Managed Services through this contract:

The Customer has 30 days from the date of deliverable invoice to inform Microassist of its determination that Microassist has made errors in the completed deliverable.  Customer will immediately inform Microassist of the Customer’s determination.  Microassist shall make such corrections and revisions as are necessary so that the unacceptable in-scope deliverables are satisfactory to Customer and shall be corrected without cost to Customer.  Correction is limited to rework of the unsatisfactory in-scope work without change(s) to the original specifications and without regard to the amount of the effort expended on the original deliverable.  Because of the nature of the services provided, Microassist does not offer a return policy, but will warrant deliverables according to the provision above.
