Hiram Kuykendall
Chief Technology Officer
As Microassist’s chief technology officer, Hiram Kuykendall is a technical leader with hands-on experience in teaching, instructional design, application development, database administration, system engineering, and digital accessibility.
He is a strong believer in the importance of taking a holistic approach to evaluating a client’s needs, in that every aspect of a project—training implications, delivery considerations, and other factors—must be thoroughly considered at the outset.
Hiram has over 25 years of experience developing and managing custom applications on various platforms for the public and private sectors, and supporting training and training-related services. Hiram has more than 20 years of experience designing hosting solutions. He has worked with a range of organizations, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Health and Human Service Commission, and Sherry Matthews Group.
His passions include promoting accessible technologies and techniques in the fields of elearning and web and application development, creating experiences that can be perceived, navigated, and enjoyed by everyone, including those with disabilities. His articles on accessibility have been featured regularly in the LexisNexis Mealey’s Litigation Report: Cyber Tech & e-Commerce. He is a former board member for Knowbility, a non-profit organization based in Austin, TX focused on raising web accessibility awareness through its AccessU and Accessibility Internet Rally programs. Hiram also delivers presentations on accessibility topics to government, industry, and nonprofit organizations.
