Preventing Automatic Hyperlink Creation
Word automatically creates hyperlinks when typing Internet and network paths, but you can change this.
- Go to the ‘File’ tab and select ‘Options’.
- In the ‘Word Options’ dialog box, select ‘Proofing’.
- Click on ‘AutoCorrect Options…’.
- Navigate to the ‘AutoFormat As You Type’ tab.
- Under ‘Replace as you type’, uncheck ‘Internet and network paths with hyperlinks’.
- Repeat step 5 for the ‘AutoFormat’ tab.
- Click ‘OK’ to save changes.
