Adjusting the behavior of the Enter key can be greatly beneficial when inputting data into Excel. Hitting the Enter key to move to the next cell in Excel is a movement we really don’t have to think about anymore – that is, until we are not moved to the desired cell. Luckily, Excel has an option to change the behavior of the Enter key. To access this option, click File in the top left corner of your Excel document, and then click Options.The Excel Options dialog box will pop up and you will want to choose the Advanced tab. The top item listed allows you to change the behavior of the Enter key. Use the drop down menu to choose whether you want to move down, up, right, or left upon clicking Enter. Once you’ve decide, click OK in the bottom right of the dialog box to save your setting. |
