Learning Management System Implementation
A learning management system (LMS) is an essential component for deploying web-based training. An LMS is usually a hosted software application that allows your organization to deploy trainings and tracks results. It manages the authentication of users, the enrollment into various courses, and tracks and ultimately reports participants’ training activities and performance.
Microassist offers a choice of open source LMS that do not tie your agency into a proprietary solution. We can host your learning content in either Moodle or forma. lms or install either on your hosting infrastructure.
How Does Microassist’s Hosted LMS Solution Work?
Microassist will host one of the supported learning management systems for you. You own the solution, we provide the infrastructure at the required security level. Since it is your system, we will serve as your host for as long as you wish, but you have the ability to migrate the system in-house or transfer it to another provider any time you choose to do so. The business advantage you enjoy with Microassist is the ability to mitigate your technology risks while protecting your management freedom. We do not retain any intellectual property, or have any interest in your content, or impose any cumbersome restrictions.
How Does Licensing Work?
The base open source system is yours. There is no per person, per course or per CPU restrictions. Pricing is based on estimated bandwidth usage and data storage requirements. Our goal is to eliminate the common technology and performance risks associated with online training programs, whether yours is internal, external, or both.
What about Compliance?
Microassist offers a full suite of options for meeting your compliance requirements including:
- HIPAA – Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
- PCI DSS – Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard
- CJIS Security Compliance – Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Based Requirements
- Accessibility – Section 508
- Accessibility – WCAG 2.0
- Texas Administrative Code – TAC 206, TAC 213
Compliance considerations range from physical hardware segmentation to hosting. Our portfolio of services are intended to fill whatever planning, infrastructure, and maintenance voids you may have, and move you toward a quicker launch of your program; including turn-key solutions. In addition, all hosting facilities and staff are based in the United States.
Can I Integrate It with My Current System?
Absolutely! As a provider of large scale training solutions, we have the technical in-house teams to connect the system of your choice securely to your existing system. That includes using your existing system’s functionality as well as true custom developed solutions.
What about My Audit Requirements?
We understand your organization has risk mitigation and accountability requirements as well. As part of the hosting, you will receive Disaster Recovery (DR) and communication plans. We also accommodate a wide array of other specific information requirements to facilitate compliance with local, state and federal guidelines. And finally, our project managers and team leads are well versed in information aggregation for grant reporting. Not only do we make your reporting possible, we make it more efficient.
